On the 6th June 2025 we held our inaugural one-day workshop for participants from 13 schools across southeast Melbourne.
The room was a buzz with schools keen to learn more about our program and how we could support them in their school’s sustainability journey.
We covered a range of topics including:
- The urgent need for school sustainability action
- New sustainability reporting legislation
- Our Sustainability Action Framework – and how to coordinate action
- Our Leadership Framework – and how to lead your school
- How we will support you after the workshop
We were very fortunate to have all members of the Eastern Alliance for Sustainable Learning (EASL) on hand to help answer any queries relating to the Resource Smart Schools program as well as contribute very practical ideas when it came to on ground action.
The overall objective of the workshop was for participants to walk out of the workshop with the start of their school climate risk assessment and action plans in hand.
The feedback we received from the participants at the end of the session was really comprehensive and we have used this in the ongoing development of the program. Some of the key feedback includes:
- The overall rating of the workshop was 90.33%
- The average score for understanding of key topics was 85.87%.
- When asked if they would recommend the course to a colleague, the average score was 95.56%.
