MSYB Learning & Action Framework

We have created a unique learning and action process to helps schools and colleges integrate both mitigation (reducing their environmental impact, such as cutting greenhouse gas emissions) and adaptation (preparing for and responding to the effects of climate change) into their teaching, planning, delivery and reporting processes.

Our action framework sets down 4 x sustainability pathways.

  • Resilient school leadership – embedding sustainability into school strategy and culture while managing environmental and climate risks.
  • Teaching & Learning & Action – Developing sustainability knowledge, skills, and behaviours of teachers and students
  • Environmental Management & Operational Performance – Minimising environmental impact and building resilience through efficient school operations.
  • Whole-School Engagement – Empowering the community to participate in sustainability initiatives.

The ultimate goal is to help schools embed sustainability into governance, teaching, learning, and everyday practice so that the whole school community can flourish together.

Guided Coaching

Regular one-hour online coaching sessions help schools and colleges identify priorities, develop practical action plans and maintain momentum. We work alongside school leaders, business managers, facilities and operations staff, teachers and students to ensure sustainability becomes a shared responsibility.

Schools and colleges can choose the level of support that suits their needs – coach your team to develop and implement your own sustainability strategy, or provide a consultancy service by preparing plans, action strategies and annual sustainability reports on your behalf.

  • Teaching, Learning & Action
  • Environmental Management & Operational Performance
  • Whole-School Engagement

Each course provides practical tools and immediately applicable strategies that participants can share with colleagues, helping to build capability across the whole school.

Community of Practice

Schools and colleges become part of a growing network of educators and leaders committed to creating more sustainable organisations.

Through regular online forums, participants share ideas, discuss challenges, showcase successful initiatives and learn from one another’s experiences. Together, we develop practical resources that address the real issues schools and colleges face, creating a supportive community that keeps schools and colleges inspired, connected and moving forward.
