School Sustainability – Coaching

We are currently working with 8 x schools as we help them move towards best practice sustainability action planning & reporting.

All these schools are part of the Victorian Resource Smarts Schools (RSS) program with one a 5 Star school and others working their ways towards certification.

We meet online and address the specific needs of each school.  This includes helping them to develop some of the following:

  • School Sustainability Policy
  • School Sustainability Plan
  • School Sustainability Team (both Teachers & Students)
  • Green Procurement Policy & Action Plan
  • Communication Strategy for the launch of the School’s Sustainability Policy
  • School Sustainability Report
  • and so much more.

It has been interesting to tailor our work to the unique objectives of each school and meet them where they are on their sustainability journey.  Addressing their needs has helped us develop resources suitable for other schools.

Contact us today if you are interested in joining our program in 2026.

School Sustainability – Leading, Learning & Flourishing

Our objective in supporting a school’s sustainability planning and reporting is to create a clear, actionable pathway that goes beyond compliance and operational efficiency. We work with school leaders, students, and the wider community to embed sustainability into governance, teaching, learning, and everyday practice.

By combining climate-resilient, low-impact operations with authentic student-led initiatives, we help the school not only measure and manage its environmental and social impacts, but also cultivate a culture of innovation, leadership, and shared responsibility – ensuring people and the planet can flourish together.

We offer the following engagement opportunities:

  • Intro workshop – for school’s sustainability team
  • Training workshops – to upskill team members in key sustainability topics
  • Action Planning – to help develop school wide sustainability action plans
  • Reporting – to help develop school sustainability annual reports to share with whole school community

Key Sustainability Pathways

Our unique approach targets the following pathways in an integrated way.

  • Resilient school leadership – embedding sustainability into school strategy and culture while managing environmental and climate risks.
  • Teaching & Learning & Action – Developing sustainability knowledge, skills, and behaviours of teachers and students
  • Environmental Management & Operational Performance – Minimising environmental impact and building resilience through efficient school operations.
  • Whole-School Engagement – Empowering the community to participate in sustainability initiatives.

We help schools take action for each pathway as follows.

  • gather baseline data
  • gather school stories
  • set performance targets
  • develop action plans
  • track progress
  • identify areas for improvement and innovation
  • report progress and achievements

The ultimate goal is to help schools embed sustainability into governance, teaching, learning, and everyday practice so that the whole school community can flourish together.
