PROGRAM OVERVIEW

MSYB – supports school business managers and other school leaders, as they guide change through sustainable business management.

AIMS – help you and your school develop a sustainability action plan, reduce your school’s environmental impact, and create a school sustainability report

THE PROGRAM – initial introductory on-line meeting, one-day intensive workshop, one-on-one coaching, and supported by a range of resources, checklists, and templates – resources available on the online LfS Learning Academy

LEARNING OUTCOMES

WHY? A greater understanding of the rationale behind school sustainability action (environmental urgency, responsible school governance, benefits and opportunities)

WHAT? Develop your leadership capabilities to prepare a business case for sustainability actions, lead a whole school approach using a unique MSYB Sustainability Action Framework, and develop a school sustainability action plan and a sustainability report

HOW? Tools and strategies to help you lead and engage the whole school community, build a collaborative sustainability team, track key environmental data, align your school plans with ResourceSmart Schools, and promote your school’s sustainability success

28th Feb 2025 – Program Launch at the Learning for Sustainability Conference hosted by the Eastern Alliance for Sustainable Learning.

28th Feb 2025 – EOI Opens

21st Mar 2025 – EOI Closes

28th Mar 2025 – Schools chosen

7th May 2025 – Onboarding Intro Online Session

6th Jun 2025 – Full day onsite workshop (Venue to be announced)

Ongoing as needed – One on one coaching sessions

TBD – Program Celebration Event

All schools in the council regions of Knox, Manningham, Boroondara, Whitehorse, Monash, Maroondah and Yarra Ranges will be eligible to join the program for a nominal fee. Places will be limited, and schools will need to apply through an Expression of Interest process.
